The End of Agent W4C

Czechoslovakia 1967
Director Vaclav Vorlicek

An entertaining spoof on James Bond style films, which has been popular with film societies as a lighter item.

W4C has nerves of steel, extraordinary judgement, split second timing; he is also a great seducer, and the world's finest agent. The film goes all the way to zany comedy. Its parody is aimed at all spy films in general. The message is that life on earth would be so much easier if all the espionage gadgetry invented by one side against the other were done away with. The hero of the film turns out to be a commonplace chap who gets involved more or less by accident; by applying his untrained logic and reasoning, he spoils the whole carefully constructed game.
